Test insulation with a 500 V megger, then turn one small 1 mA meter into a voltmeter, an ammeter and an ohmmeter.

Think of it like…Insulation is the plastic skin on a wire. The megger pushes 500 V against that skin and checks how much current leaks through. Very high MΩ means almost no leak: good skin.
